Anna Genover-Mas
Anna Genover-Mas is a Catalan journalist and writer from Girona, now living in Barcelona. As a child, she dreamed of becoming a navigator, an archaeologist, a hydroplane pilot, and even to pick up a Hollywood’s Oscar… She graduated in Journalism and became a free-lance journalist for the Spanish TV.
Years later, she did cinema studies at NYU and at UCLA, where she realized that she could be everything she dreamed of, thanks to the scripts that filled her imagination: a spy in ‘Dog Drag’, an oysters’ breeder in ‘Misty Spur’, a fortunate spectator of the Second Spanish Republic’s birth in ‘Madame Duval’, and the Spanish postwar in ‘Golden Route’...
One day she bumped into children’s literature, which turned Anna into a total adventurous writer. Nowadays she travels for free and lives all sorts of adventures every day. ‘The Grumpy Gardener’ is the first book she publishes and translates into English. She is now preparing a new collection of adventure books: the first two volumes are ‘The Magical Spout’ and ‘The Treasure of Pakamotu’. The magical spout has been rewarded with the prize Vicenta Ferrer Vila de Paterna as the best children literature book of 2007.
